Army West Point to be Featured in Independence Bowl's Next Cycle

The Independence Bowl, the nation’s 11th-oldest bowl game, will feature a new look beginning in 2020 – one that is highlighted by Army West Point, as the Independence Bowl will feature Army West Point as a primary tie-in for three years from 2020-2025.

Independence Bowl Foundation Partners with Impression Sports & Entertainment to Lead Title Sponsor Search

In an effort to secure the next title sponsor of the 11th-oldest college football bowl game, the Independence Bowl Foundation has partnered with Impression Sports & Entertainment to be the exclusive third-party agency in their search.

Kickoff K's Features Runner Heading to Olympic Trials

The annual Walk-On’s Independence Bowl Kickoff K’s 5K and Half Marathon featured many talented runners, including Taylor Dare – the women’s half marathon winner. Dare finished the race in 1:19:23.6, which was third overall in both men and women, and she will compete in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials in Atlanta, Ga. in February. 

Cowboys' Star Dak Prescott Named Sportsperson of the Year

Many of the greatest athletes to hail from the Shreveport-Bossier City area have been named the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl Carl Mikovic Sportsperson of the Year, and another local great joins that list in 2019, as Dallas Cowboys quarterback and former Haughton High School star Dak Prescott has been named the 2019 Carl Mikovich Sportsperson of the Year.
